THine Announces Support for New Use Cases in High-Speed Contactless Connectivity using STMicroelectronics’ Technology

TOKYO (October 23rd, 2023) – THine Electronics, Inc. (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 6769, “THine”), the global leader in high-speed serial interface and provider of mixed-signal LSI as well as valuable AI/IoT-based solutions, today announced its support for new use cases in contactless connectivity by applying THine’s high-speed serial interface technology to STMicroelectronics’ 60 GHz RF millimeter-wave technology.
ST’s ST60A2 contactless 60 GHz transceivers enable short-range, point-to-point communications at multi-Gigabit data rates with very low power consumption. Together with V-by-One® and other interface technologies, THine now enables high-speed data transmitting solutions for new use cases easily by board-to-board contactless connections (e.g., removing flex cables and removing cables in industrial electronic systems that undergo mechanical stress) and connector-free solutions (e.g., water- and dust-proof electronic system equipment, seamless docking and device-to-device data synchronization). Starting with the demonstration that will be exhibited at the Korea Electronics Show in Seoul, Korea, held from October 24th, we will continue our efforts to contribute to the evolution of use cases that require contactless data communication in the global market, including the Japanese market.
