News THine Announces “V-by-One® HS plus”, Its Advanced High-Speed Serial Interface Technology, Supports FPGA Design and Development by Partnerships, Enhancing Options for User’s Product Development and Evaluation Platform

2025.06.16 Release
TOKYO (June 16th, 2025) – THine Electronics, Inc. (Tokyo Stock Exchange: 6769, “THine”), a global leading fabless semiconductor supplier of innovative mixed signal LSI and analog technologies as well as valuable AI/IoT-based solutions and AI/data servers, today announced THine supports FPGA1) users in its advanced high-speed serial interface technology “V-by-One® HS plus” that enables internal data transmission of 4K/8K televisions twice as fast as widely penetrated de facto standard V-by-One® HS technology. THine licenses V-by-One® HS plus Standard to FPGA IP suppliers and multiple options for user’s development and evaluation platform are provided through the partnerships.

Since 2011, global high-resolution television markets and display markets such as 4K or 8K have generally used the high-speed internal interface technology V-by-One® HS as de facto standard, licensed by THine. Hundreds of the licensees of V-by-One® HS have enjoyed this technology and cultivated the value of high-resolution televisions, displays and cameras with THine. After providing “V-by-One® HS plus Standard” since June 2023, THine is collaborating with partner companies that support the ecosystem of V-by-One® HS plus technology to provide multiple options for user’s development and evaluation platform.

Enhancing application platforms in V-by-One® HS plus technology, the development time to market for customer’s end products and LSIs compliant with V-by-One® HS plus are largely shorten. Additionally, the scope of FPGA’s use case expands to mass production design as well as prototyping and evaluation design. Applying V-by-One® HS plus into FPGA without extra parts outside contributes system cost reduction especially in professional display and camera products in which FPGA are originally and widely adopted in mass production design.

Macnica, Inc. has developed and released the IP solution2) compliant with V-by-One® HS plus Standard, which greatly reduces customer’s development time and the workload by providing FPGA IP design and its evaluation board compatible with FPGA manufacturers’ official development kits.

“As many customers are considering and evaluating V-by-One® HS plus today, we are pleased to announce this new FPGA solutions compliant with the V-by-One® HS plus Standard,” said Kazuhisa Sasaki, CMO of THine. “THine will continue to work with partner companies that support V-by-One® HS plus technology to expand the range of options for high-quality video data transmission contributing to add values to customers' products around the world.”

About V-by-One® HS plus
  • Up to 8Gbps/lane, enabling high resolution and high frame rate
  • With High-performance equalizer definition, enabling high-speed transmission without updating conventional system design in end customers
  • System cost, power consumption and PCB size reduction through optimizing and/or downsizing cable, connector and LSI
  • Following V-by-One® HS standard in basic protocol and design concept, providing users little handles to switch from V-by-One® HS
