~The achievements will be exhibited at JPCA Show 2017~

TOKYO (June 5, 2017) – THine Electronics, Inc. (JASDAQ: 6769), the global leader in high-speed serial interface and provider of mixed-signal LSI, has been developing transmission lines for the advanced next-generation high-speed interface standard for 4K and 8K video images “V-by-One® US” with several partner companies, and today announces that its achievement will be exhibited at the booth of DU PONT-TORAY CO., LTD.*1 at JPCA Show 2017 (the 47th International Electronic Circuits Exhibition)*2.

THine has established V-by-One® US technical specification as a next-generation high-speed interface technology that follows THine’s high-speed interface technology V-by-One® HS, which is used as de facto standard inside most 4K TVs over the world.  V-by-One® US technical specification specifies high-speed transmission of 16Gbps (16,000,000,000 bits per second) at a maximum per lane, which is 4 times as fast as V-by-One® HS.  In order to develop transmission lines for 8K video images by V-by-One® US while maintaining the number of transmission lines for transmitting 4K video images by V-by-One® HS, THine has collaborated in development of transmission lines with several harness, connector, and material manufacturers who agree to expansion of V-by-One® US technology.

DU PONT-TORAY CO., LTD., as a manufacturer of materials for flexible flat cables, has provided “Kapton® RR,” a new insulating film for flexible flat cables, and is under feasibility study with THine for developing transmission lines by flexible flat cables that can be adopted to V-by-One® US technical specification.  A flexible flat cable with “Kapton® RR” as an insulating film is designed by Office ECW Co., Ltd.*3  At the booth of DU PONT-TORAY CO., LTD. at JPCA Show 2017 held on June 7 to 9, 2017, “Kapton® RR” and the result of transmission property measurement will be exhibited.

“THine aims to provide several transmission line solutions that can be adopted to V-by-One® US technical specification upon release of ASSP products incorporating V-by-One® US technology targeting the first half of 2018.  THine will expand collaboration with harness, connector, and material providers who agree to popularization of V-by-One® US technology, and provide users with systems for transmitting 4K and 8K video images with lower cost by V-by-One® US technology.  THine continues to aim to contribute to our customers and innovation of video image market as a leading company of high-speed interface technology,” says Yasuhiro Takada, CEO of THine Electronics.
