(Tokyo Stock Exchange: 6769, “THine”), the global leader in high-speed serial interface and provider of mixed-signal LSI as well as valuable AI/IoT-based solutions, today announced that Sensorview and THine have developed a demonstration of a high-speed contactless connectivity solution, incorporating STMicroelectronics (“ST”) 60 GHz RF millimeter-wave technology, Sensorview’s wireless technology and THine’s high-speed serial interface technology and Sensorview exhibits the demonstration at MWC (Mobile World Congress), held in Barcelona from February 26th to February 29th, 2024 at its booth (Hall 7 Stand 7C9).
ST’s ST60A2 contactless 60 GHz transceivers enable short-range, point-to-point communications at multi-Gigabit data rates with very low power consumption and virtually no added latency. Together with V-by-One® and other interface technologies, THine now enables high-speed data transmitting solutions for new use cases easily by board-to-board contactless connections and connector-free solutions. For example, users can remove cables in industrial electronic systems that undergo mechanical stress or achieve water- and dust-proof electronic system equipment, seamless docking and device-to-device data synchronization.
THine serializers/de-serializers operate as GPIOs, CSI2 or aggregators/des-aggregators. Sensorview provides small form factor 60GHz antenna solutions accommodating multiple RF channels configurations. Users in various application areas have evaluated the advantage of this high-speed contactless connectivity solution. A typical use case includes final testing in production lines of all sorts of electronic devices to increase testing throughputs drastically by this contactless connections, avoiding physical connection between testing equipment and devices, also preventing wear on testing probes and connectors.
