Electrical CharacteristicsV-by-One HS・V-by-One
Whether a differential signal output from the transmitter can be successfully received by the receiver depends on the signal integrity at the end of the receiver’s input (or the receiving end).
In the case of V-by-One® HS products, transmission channels are evaluated based on whether or not the waveform observed at the receiving end violates the EyeMask specified in V-by-One®HS Standard.
Specifically, if the waveform observed just near the receiver device (i.e. within 5mm from the device’s input pin ideally) is not violating the EyeMask, the signal is electrically receivable.
However, as our products supporting V-by-One®HS have internal “equalizers” implemented on their receiver devices, even when the waveform observed just next to the receiver device is violating the EyeMask, it may be adjusted by the equalizer to a receivable waveform in the device. Hence, when the waveform observed just next to the receiver device is violating the EyeMask, ensure that the waveform adjusted by the equalizer does not violate the EyeMask.
To observe the waveform after passing through the equalizer, use the emulation function supported by the oscilloscope.
