PCIe Optical Interconnects with ZERO EYE SKEW

  • To realize future large-scale AI data centers, accelerators will be deployed across multiple racks. Optical interconects are essential for connecting these accelerators.
  • One of the key challenges in optical interconnects is achieving low latency, for which optical linear links are essential. Since these optical interconnects need to be both low-cost and low-power, VCSELs are preferred.
  • For PCIe 6.0 optical interconnects, use the THLD6481/THTA6482, a VCSEL driver/TIA chipset designed for PCIe 6.0. By incorporating this chipset into optical interconnects, the transmission distance between xPU and switch ASICs can be extended while maintaining a low BER, thanks to reduced VCSEL eye skew.
