THine starts distributing V-by-One®HS to DTV with double frame rate


Tokyo (February 4, 2011) – THine Electronics, Inc. (JASDAQ: 6769), the global leader in high-speed interface and provider of mixed-signal LSI for flat panel displays and mobile phones, announced today that THine starts distributing V-by-One®HS for digital televisions (DTV) with double frame rate.
V-by-One®HS is an advanced high-speed interface standard, promoted by THine to deliver value for DTV markets. V-by-One®HS can reduce the number of cables between DTV panels and DTV controllers drastically has well as related connectors. In addition, THine’s unique variable speed technology from 600 Mbps to 3.75 Gbps effectively meets the requirements of various different pixel rates and V-by-One®HS can reduce components needed for various television line-ups with the same V-by-One®HS chip sets.
DTV markets require more valuable cost-performance in internal interfaces, shifting from general DTVs with 60 frames per seconds or 120 frames/s to those with 240 frames/s and 3D TVs. Under such trends, V-by-One®HS has been adopted for full HD televisions with double frame rate of 120 frames/s. Thus, V-by-One®HS is effective not only for the high-end DTV such as DTV with 240 frames/s or 3D but also the general double frame rate DTVs.
THine also plans to deliver timing controller LSIs to global top panel makers and television set makers, penetrating its original value widely among the global markets.
