THine Unveils THiRFPERSONALTM Series for Mobile Phones
New RF-IC that can reduce print circuit board sizes and design resources
THine Electronics, Inc. (JASDAQ:6769) announced today the launch of a series of RF-ICs for mobile phones, THiRFPERSONALTM(*1), the first product lineup among its RF series, THiRFANYWHERETM(*2). The first engineering samples have begun to be distributed to customers.
Recently, it has been necessary for mobile phones to improve wireless performances, for example because of further integration and penetration of full duplex mode as well as required size reduction of inner print circuit boards. The two products of distributed engineering samples of THiRFPERSONAL(TM), THG3201 and THG3202, are unique buffer amplifier RF-ICs that can stabilize wireless performance in full duplex mode when mobile phones access the Internet or e-mail, as well as wireless performance in voice communications. In addition, these products can:
1) reduce related print circuit board space by 50%, integrating the external discrete parts internally
2) shorten mobile phone manufacturers' design lead time substantially with built-in matching network
3) achieve stable performance even in low input signal power with an auto adjusting function of internal signals
THiRFPERSONAL(TM) is an SiGeBiCMOS-based RF-IC so that it has the advantages of smoother integration compared to RF-IC with other compound semiconductors. THine has already begun to distribute engineering samples of THG3201 and THG3202, and plans to start mass production in the fourth quarter. Furthermore, THine plans to release about ten new RF products over the course of the year to offer a series lineup and expand its business to the third generation mobile phone market, etc.
THine will develop and launch the following RF products, utilizing analog IPs (intellectual properties) for strategic application markets, including such new areas of wireless LAN and wireless infrastructures as a whole THiRFANYWHERE(TM) series.
