TOKYO (May 11, 2010) -- THine Electronics, Inc. (JASDAQ: 6769) today introduced its new power management LSI, THV3058, for advanced television markets, such as 3D televisions and 240 Hz refresh rate panels. THV3058 is available now in volume production.

 

THine’s new product, THV3058, achieves complicated power management systems required to 3D televisions and other advanced televisions only by one chip. The advanced television markets of 3D televisions and 240 Hz refresh rate panels are growing rapidly. Since these televisions have higher-speed refresh rates, driver ICs of LCD panels need more electric current. These advanced televisions therefore require more complicated power management systems.

THV3058 has DC/DC converter control functions with pulse frequency modulation (PFM) as well as usual charge pump functions to supply large capacity electric currency for driver ICs with high-speed refresh rates.

THV3058 saves energy consumption in power management LSIs by at most 30% compared to usual power management LSI*1. In addition, this new products achieved more reliable systems by adding new function for protecting from over current as well as usual system protection functions.
