THine releases new products of V-by-One® HS to expand line-ups for DTVs
Tokyo (October 19, 2009) – THine Electronics, Inc. (JASDAQ:6769), the global leader in high-speed serial interface and provider of mixed-signal LSI for flat panel displays, announced today that THine releases new products of its high-speed serial interface of THCV217 and THCV218 as families of V-by-One® HS that expand line-ups for digital televisions.
V-by-One® HS has been developed to offer capabilities for television markets that are requiring ever-higher frame rates and higher resolutions with lower costs and EMI. THine’s high-speed technology reduces number of cables to one sixth of current LVDS interface cables and enables to decrease costs of cables as well as EMI, solving skew issues fundamentally to improve picture quality.
THCV217 and THCV218 is a chipset that converts pixel data between V-by-One® HS and TTL/CMOS. This chipset expands customers’ options adopting V-by-One® HS with high-speed of 3.4Gbps in addition to the current chipset of THCV215 and THCV216 that converts data between V-by-One® HS and LVDS for high resolution digital televisions and visual systems such as projectors.
Furthermore, THine has already entered into license agreements of V-by-One® HS with twelve partners, negotiating with a few potential partners, and expands partners of V-by-One® HS continuously. THine plans to expand the application markets of V-by-One® HS and partners, conducting research and developments, expanding product line-ups, promoting licensing V-by-One® HS to DTV markets and many visual data related markets in order to deliver values of higher speed, lower space, and lower costs.
