THine announces availability of the technical specification of V-by-One®HS
TOKYO (December 25, 2007)-- THine Electronics, Inc. (JASDAQ:6769), the global leader in LDVS(*1) and other mixed-signal LSI for flat panel displays, announced today, to open the technical specification of "V-by-One®HS", the next generation video signal SerDes(*2) interface, in order to make it a de-facto standard in the industry. In response to growing market needs such as higher picture quality, higher pixel rate and color depth, lower energy consumption, THine Electronics will help the video interface users to more easily adapt "V-by-One®HS" by opening the technical specification step by step and getting recognition of a de-facto standard. The technical specification of "V-by-One®HS" is on THine's WEB site as follows and the fully precise version will be disclosed in April 2008.

The new interface "V-by-One®HS" is employing high speed 3.75Gbps serial data rate transmission technology and greatly beneficial for improving video signal transmission quality, reducing EMI, lowering power consumption, and cutting total system cost. These benefits are realized by THine's technical breakthrough of the wide range variable transmission speed technology, which covers from 600Mbps to 3.75Gbps, and the data sampling technology without crystal components as reference clocks.
By transmitting both data and clock signals through the same pair cable utilizing CDR (Clock Data Recovery) technology, "V-by-One®HS" drastically improves the timing skew between signals on the different pair cables and achieves higher picture quality and lower EMI.. THine's unique variable speed technology effectively contributes to meeting various TV pixel rate and reducing power consumption. The original equalizer technology achieves high video signal quality and total cost down by enabling use of lower cost cables/connectors and reducing components for EMI reduction.
By becoming a de-facto standard of the industry, The "V-by-One®HS" will be a beneficial for users as a standard solution to improve video signal transmission quality for higher pixel rate and color depth, reduces EMI, lowers power consumption, and cuts total system cost for high-end video signal transmission needs such as 120Hz frame rate full high vision TV.
In addition, THine plans to license related IPs (intellectual properties) for adopting customers as requested, starting volume production of the chip set of THCV215 and THCV216 with V-by-One®HS technology in the second quarter 2008.
